Spiritual joy

The Serbian Kovin Monastery, founded in the 12th century by the Hungarian queen of Serbian origin, Jelena Vukanović, represents one of the most precious spiritual and cultural pearls of the Serbian people in the diaspora. As a living center of gathering, prayer, and the preservation of faith, language, and identity, this holy monastery has been gathering the Serbian community in Hungary for centuries.

At the same time, the monastery is a bridge of spiritual and cultural connection between the Serbian and Hungarian people, a testament to a shared history and mutual respect.

At the invitation of the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Metodije Marković, and with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan of Buda, His Eminence Lukian, part of the staff of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Petrovaradin and Acting Director Dr. Vladimir Kubet, traveled to the island of Čepel to attend the celebration of the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Monastery in Srpski Kovin, during which the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served and an appropriate cultural and artistic program was organized.
