Castle of Sečen

Built in 1795 as a noble residence for the Szécsen family by Count Karol Szécsen, this castle is one of the few preserved in almost its original form. Stylistically, it is a mixture of Baroque and Classical architecture. It has a simple rectangular base, with a symmetrically organized street facade emphasized by a terrace with a wrought iron fence, side arched facades and a rear, decoratively emphasized glazed terrace supported by 6 columns and featuring a rich decorative program in wrought iron, walled over time and partially altered.

The plan is to make the large park that once belonged to the estate and will occupy an area of 13 acres an integral part of the castle.

Today, the building houses the "Lukian Mušicki" High School .

The renovation of the building began in 2023 when the street, western facade was restored, and during 2024, work was carried out on the side, northern and southern facades. The carpentry was replaced on all three facades and facade work was carried out. At the end of 2024, extensive work began on the reconstruction and restoration of the courtyard, eastern facade.
