Signed cooperation protocol

Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Petrovaradin and the Gallery of Matica Srpska.

Today, on April 17, 2025, a Protocol on Cooperation with the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments was signed at the Matica Srpska Gallery, officially marking the continuation of a long-standing and successful cooperation. The Protocol was signed by representatives – Dr. Vladimir Kubet, Acting Director of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Petrovaradin, and Dr. Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski, Director of the Matica Srpska Gallery – as a symbol of joint commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage.

Based on the fact that there is a mutual desire and need for cooperation in the preservation, nurturing and popularization of cultural heritage, the signatories of the Protocol expressed their readiness and common intention to establish permanent, comprehensive and strategically focused cooperation. Joint work is oriented towards the organization and implementation of projects and programs in the field of research, protection, conservation and presentation of movable cultural heritage. One of the first joint projects within the framework of the newly signed cooperation will be aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of the Kovilja Monastery, which represents a valuable segment of Serbian cultural and spiritual heritage.

The signing of the protocol further strengthened the long-standing cooperation, which continues in the year when the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Petrovaradin celebrates its seventy-fifth anniversary, and Matica Srpska, as the founder of the Matica Srpska Gallery, is preparing its two hundredth anniversary. These significant dates testify to the long-term contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage as the foundation of the identity and culture of society.
