Archaeological research of the rotunda church

Archaeological research is underway around the masonry structures of the medieval rotunda church dedicated to Saint George in Bač, which is located within the SRP “Karađorđevo” hunting ground. So far, about 60 graves have been explored, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. A piece of stone from the Roman period was also found on which the image of Medusa is carved.

The research is accompanied by the development of a project, which plans to undertake conservation and restoration works.
