4th century potter

At the archaeological site in Zmajevo in Bačka, during protective archaeological research in 2023, a settlement from the 4th century AD was discovered. In one of the dug pits, which served to store food, an amphora made of baked clay was found, of very high quality, about 60 cm high, with a surface that was carefully polished and decorated with geometric ornamentation.

The amphora was made by a local potter, but modeled after the shapes of Roman pottery.
