A Marvel in Savino Selo

In Savino Selo, on the territory of the Municipality of Vrbas, on Marshala Tito Street, there is a villa, or rather the building of the village clinic, an exceptional example of Art Nouveau architecture from the beginning of the 20th century.

With preserved facades in their full decorativeness made up of geometric and stylized floral ornaments, preserved internal layout and materialization, it exudes a solemn and magnificent appearance, which can rarely be found today in the areas of central and southern Bačka.

The Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments has drawn up a draft decision on the designation of the outpatient clinic building as an immovable cultural asset, and its protection and preservation will, among other things, maintain the continuity of the culture of remembrance of one community - the Germans in Bačka, who made a great contribution to the industrial prosperity and progress of this area.

The villa was in very poor condition until recently, but its rehabilitation and reconstruction are underway, according to the technical documentation prepared by the Institute with the issued conditions for undertaking technical protection measures and our conservation supervision.
