Church of the Transfer of the Relics of St. Nicholas in Kać

Conservators of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Petrovaradin and Acting Director Dr. Vladimir Kubet, together with the clergy of the Diocese of Bačka, visited the Church of the Translation of the Relics of St. Nicholas in Kać today. The focus of the visit was to determine the current condition of the church's interior, especially the iconostasis, in order to prepare a report, carry out examination work, and take further steps regarding the conservation and restoration of the iconostasis and thrones. After the conservators inspected the condition of the iconostasis, a meeting was held. The Serbian Orthodox Church of the Transfer of the Relics of St. Nicholas in Kać is a cultural monument belonging to the Diocese of Bačka. It was built from 1841 to 1844. years. The woodcut of the iconostasis was made by Miloš Dević in 1963/64, and the icons on the iconostasis, thrones and choir stalls were painted by Đorđe Rakić. The wall paintings were done in 1886 by Dimitrije Petrović.
