Matica Srpska Gallery Day

Today, a ceremonial session was held in the Great Hall "Sava Tekelija" to mark the 178th anniversary of the founding of the Matica Srpska Gallery.

On this occasion, the attendees were addressed by Dr. Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski, Director, and Dr. Danilo Vuksanović, Program Director and Assistant Director of the Gallery.

The ceremonial session was completed by a film about the new permanent exhibition of the GMS, the opening of which marked the past year. In addition to the new permanent exhibition, which has been visited by over 50,000 visitors so far, the evening was dedicated to marking the anniversary – 20 years since the formation of the Club of Friends of the Matica Srpska Gallery, which brings together artists, collectors, lovers and supporters of art and connects generations, permanently enriching our society.

The Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments was honored with the Certificate of Appreciation from the Friends' Club for its charity, cooperation and support in the work of the Matica Srpska Gallery and its sincere and strong contribution to the promotion of its achievements and values.
