It’s the iconostasis’ turn.

The Serbian Orthodox Church of the Transfer of the Relics of St. Nicholas in Kać is a cultural monument belonging to the Diocese of Bačka. It was built from 1841 to 1844. years.

Conservators of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, having taken care of the church interior in recent years, carried out a complete restoration of the wall paintings painted by Dimitrije Petrović in 1886.

Next came the iconostasis, whose woodcut was made by Miloš Dević, and the icons on the iconostasis and thrones are the work of the painter Đorđe Rakić. In order for the conservation and restoration work to begin, the Institute's experts are currently compiling a report and carrying out examination work that includes special recordings of the icons, iconostasis and thrones using infrared reflectology, ultraviolet fluorescence and the visible spectrum.

Deep chemical probing, analysis of the structure, the condition of the wood, and everything necessary to ensure that conservation and restoration work is carried out in the most professional manner are underway.
