Autumn session of the Medieval Section

Opening of the session: October 31 at 11:00 a.m. Bač: Small Hall of the Library, Educational Center This year's regular Autumn Session of the Medieval Section of the Serbian Archaeological Society will be held in Bač, from October 31 to November 1, 2025, organized by the Archaeological Society.

The host and organizer of the meeting will be the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments Petrovaradin. The meeting will bring together archaeologists, members of the Serbian Archaeological Society from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, whose primary research period is the Middle Ages.

The opening of the Session is scheduled for October 31, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m. in the premises of the library in Bač, with the presence of officials of the Municipality of Bač and the Provincial Secretariat for Culture.

The gathering will be addressed by the director of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, the president of the Medieval Section of the USA, as well as the Secretary for Culture of the APV, who will officially open the session. After the official opening and a cocktail party, the working part of the session will begin (approximately 12 noon), during which archaeologists will present their papers, followed by a regular working meeting of the Section, where current issues and problems related to the work of the Section and the Society as a whole will be discussed.

For the second day of the Session, an expert excursion to Bač and the surrounding area is planned, where participants will be introduced to the most significant cultural monuments of this region, the research, preservation and conservation of which has been dedicatedly carried out for decades by multidisciplinary experts from the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
