“Like crocheting a spider’s web with the tip of a bow!”

In Savino Selo there is a villa, or rather a village clinic building, an exceptional example of Art Nouveau architecture from the beginning of the 20th century. century.

Until recently, the villa was in very poor condition, but its rehabilitation and reconstruction are underway, according to technical documentation prepared by the Institute. Technical drawings of the existing condition were made based on field surveys carried out using two methods: The first and basic method is carried out by drawing sketches of the foundations, cross-sections and appearance of the existing condition on site, on which the measurements taken of all necessary lengths, depths and heights of the object are written. The second method is using a 3D scanner, by taking a picture of the entire object inside and out. After taking the pictures, the scans are transferred to a computer, merged and edited in a specific program. Based on this, a 3D model is obtained from which complete measurements and ortho-photo views can be taken, depending on what is needed for the project.

By drawing sketches on the ground and measuring them, detailed profiles of cornices, window frames, window sills, socles, pilasters and other decorations are obtained.

By scanning with a 3D scanner, we get a complete picture of the object with all irregularities (the angle at which the walls are located, curvatures, possible cracks...) and all other dimensions that are unavailable for measurement (on the attic, roof, domes...) And of course, in the end, photo documentation serves as a reminder where you can see the clearest picture of the details, floor coverings, materialization of the object, the degree of damage (such as capillary moisture, network cracks, damage in the plaster...) and everything else.

When the Institute's architectural technicians finish working on technical drawings, they look like filigree, fine lace, as if they had "crocheted a spider's web with the tip of a bow."
