Sremski Karlovci

The interior decoration of the Parish Office building in Sremski Karlovci has been completed. The building of the Parish Office of the Roman Catholic Parish was built in the mid-18th century and is used for housing and gatherings of parishioners.

Its northern facade leans against the Church of the Holy Trinity. It is located in the zone of the spatial cultural and historical entity "City Center of Sremski Karlovci", designated as a cultural asset of exceptional importance for the Republic of Serbia.

Comprehensive adaptation works began in 2023 and were carried out in three phases. The works were commissioned by the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments Petrovaradin. The renovation was carried out on the entire structure of the building, with the implementation of new electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations. Traces of earlier phases of use of the building have been preserved in the interior, from medieval stone elements from the site to recent changes in the organization of the foundation. With the completion of the works, the residents of Župan were enabled to comfortably use the building in the historical core of Sremski Karlovci.

The renovated Parish Office building was visited today by His Eminence Mr. Fabian Svalina - Roman Catholic Bishop of Srem, Reverend Stjepan Šumanovac, Vicar General Josip Ivezić, Dr. Vladimir Kubet, Director of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Rastko Vlajković, architect-conservator of the Institute who was in charge of supervising the renovation works, and representatives of the "Koto" Company, which carried out the works.
