Working meeting at the Novo Hopovo Monastery

Today, a meeting was held at the Novo Hopovo Monastery as part of the project to introduce a drainage and sewerage system in the portico of the monastery church of St. Nicholas.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, expert supervision of hydro-technical works, archaeologists of the Provincial Institute conducting archaeological research, as well as the responsible contractor.

The topic of the meeting was the integration of archaeological discoveries that have enriched our knowledge about the life of this monastery over several centuries, into an already existing project. The Provincial Institute, as the project commissioner, ensures that all works are aligned with the preservation of cultural heritage.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the Provincial Government, and its implementation aims to enable the stabilization of the microclimate and prevent further damage to the frescoes, categorized as cultural property of exceptional importance.
